You just pulled your shirt out of the suitcase and it looks like you slept in it.
Dinner is in an hour.
There is no iron in the room.
Here is what to do right now.
Hang the shirt on the shower rod, turn the hot water on full, close the bathroom door. Wait 15 minutes.
The steam relaxes the fabric.
Shake the garment out and hang it to cool.
Works on everything except heavy denim.
That handles tonight. Below are three more options depending on what is in the room.
Three backup de-wrinkling methods.
Hair dryer. Dampen the wrinkled area with wet hands, then hold the dryer 6 inches away on medium heat and smooth with your free hand.
Takes 3 to 5 minutes per item.
Damp towel press. Lay the garment flat on the bed, place a damp towel on top, press firmly and smooth with your hands.
Leave it for 15 minutes.
Wrinkle-release spray. Mix water with a small splash of vinegar in a travel bottle.
Mist the garment, tug it smooth, hang for 10 minutes.
The real fix: pack so wrinkles do not happen.
My viewers have taught me as much as I’ve taught them, I do not steam, iron, or press anything on the road. Clothes come out of the bag ready to wear.
The difference is how they went in.
Tight rolls prevent creases.
Flat folds create them.
That rolling technique is Step 7 of my 10-step Space-Saving Travel Packing Method. When you follow the full sequence, your clothes take up half the space and come out wrinkle-free.
