Most flight attendants use packing cubes. Compression cubes are the favored type because crew bags need to fit tight weight and size limits multiple times a week.
The standard flight attendant packing system:
- Clothing in cubes, grouped by type (tops, bottoms, underwear)
- One narrow cube for underwear and sleepwear
- Toiletries in a fixed zone for fast reassembly at each hotel
- Dirty clothes get their own cube to keep them separate from clean items
Compression cubes handle the biggest challenge of crew travel: switching between warm-weather and cold-weather layover cities without overpacking. Stuff the parka into a compression cube and it shrinks.
