For a 2 week trip, 6 to 8 packing cubes is the common setup. The mix that works for most travelers:
- 2 medium cubes for tops and daily clothing
- 2 medium or 1 large for bottoms and layering pieces
- 1 small for underwear and socks
- 1 small for accessories (belts, scarves, chargers)
- 1 slim or dirty-laundry cube (optional but useful)
For a true 2 week trip in a carry-on, a mid-trip laundry stop cuts the required clothing by roughly half and makes 4 or 5 cubes enough.
The number matters less than the fit. Measure the suitcase interior first. Cubes that leave small gaps waste more space than having one fewer cube.
